Leaving Care - Launchpad

LAUNCHPAD

Launchpad has been in operating since October 1995, the project is a high quality 10 bed ‘towards independence’ supported housing unit for young people in the process of leaving care aged 16-19 years. The project staff operate a 24 hour rota system and support young people in all aspects of their life-skills training to enable them to live independently. Young people can stay from between 6 months to 2 years, with the average stay being about 1 year

Launchpad is committed to providing an appropriate service to meet the individual needs of a young person.

We offer the following service:

  • Flexible cover, including 24 hour on-call.
  • Practical support in the development of life skills and adjustment to self-sufficiency.
  • Benefits advice, assistance with entitlement, information.
  • Providing advice and support on training, education and employment.
  • Practical help with the move to independent living or follow up contact as appropriate.
  • Referrals to others agencies.
  • Outreach work, consultation and liaison with other groups.

Launchpad is managed by The NCY Trust and operates in partnership with East Living, who provides housing management and property services to the project.
