NCY aims to be an equal opportunities employer and believes that all groups in Society should be treated equally. We, therefore, have a comprehensive recruitment policy which accords to best practice which will frequently involve advertising externally.
However, we also recognise that equal opportunities involves a retention strategy which so far as possible involves providing opportunities for training and career advancement within the agency.
We have also developed the idea of a virtuous circle in employment terms. For example, we have a number of people now employed by us who started off as users of the service, then progressed to being volunteers, then to sessional workers and then to full time employed staff.
